News in brief: Sheltered Housing Improvements

April 2, 2013 By John Fahy

An investment of £6m in Sheltered Housing provision has been agreed by the Council. Improvements will include room adaptations and improved bathrooms across all of the homes. This spend will take place over the next few years.

Creating new opportunities for older people has been a key strategy for the Council. Creating new Extra Care provision and bringing Mabel Polley House back into use will provide additional support for older people to live independently. It will also free up much needed family homes in the borough over time.
